friday night involved being a little….tipsy lol. it was my first time drinking more than 1 cup. fyi, i wasn’t 100% drunk; i was just really tipsy. it was at my friend’s house and he and his friends were playing beer pong in the pool. SO much fun haha. met up with some college people i haven’t seen in a year. btw, i seriously had to go pee like 6 times in one hour
saturday night was hanging out with peeps. me and paige went to Chocolate Bar in Rice Village to meet up with some people. 2 of her friends from Vanderbilt were there also. after that we went back to Paige’s house for some BBQ stuff. keep in mind this was like 12 at night lol. then we played Taboo where me and Ana won haha. the funny part was when Paige had to let Chase guess “George Foreman”. Chase got the George part right, so she said “he’s Black!” and then he answered back “George Washington!” another funny part was when Chase’s German friend Falko had the word sumo wrestler, so he said a fat person from his country…hahaha
monday i went to the beach with some people from UH. had a blast trying to bury Nam in the sand but didn’t work out because the sand was too hard and we didn’t have the right shovel. went to iHop afterwards and then home.
so all in all, a really really fun memorial day weekend and my first weekend of only college students having fun
WHOO HOO! I’m from the south so i kinda like country music. I originally wanted Pia to win, but i’m still happy that Scotty won! So happy for him!
stand out performances of the night were of course Lady Gaga and Beyonce. Much better than last year when they had Hal and Oates out…like wtf.
Scotty sang with Tim McGraw which made me of course applaud. Lauren sang with none other than Carrie Underwood, and TBH, Carrie OWNED Lauren at her own song. You just can’t compete with the most successful Idol winner. It was all about Carrie in that song.
Marc Anthony came out singing in Spanish, and then the booty queen herself arrived.
The case of the Spider Man musical came out with U2, and of course they’re trying to save their show by showing up here tonight. When that spider man dude came down upside to kiss J Lo, I seriously thought it was Marc Anthony until she just brushed him away too embarrassed to kiss him. You missed your shot J Lo
Steven Tyler came out with his iconic rock song, Dream On. I guess the original was a lot better when he could actually move around and carry the vocals stronger.
So Ryan Seacrest announced Scotty won, and I can’t help myself, I teared up a bit for Scotty. When i see others cry, i sometimes cry also. I thought it was super sweet of him to hug all of his family members.
so Congrats Scotty! Hope you have an amazing career!
TBH, i didn’t like the season finale very much. well i did, but was it the best way to end the season? No. Was it better than last year’s? No. Was it blazingly awful? No.
I just felt that it was kinda sloppily written and executed. I also felt they were trying to put too much in one episode. Way too much.
This episode didn’t really flow for me and it somehow wasn’t as WOW as Journey was.
New Directions arrive in NYC and of course they want to see the sights. At the choir championships, they win 12th place. Which I’m kinda happy they did because it made sense.
Finchel fans rejoice!
The original songs weren’t that memorable to me. The kiss at the end of the duet was quite cheesy for me
Charice was basically on screen during the whole season 2 for probably no more than 15 minutes. Way to use an international pop star Glee…
Mr. Schu really annoyed me this episode. His song was so random and irrelevant. When that man came in and told him he had it in him, I thought that was so laughable and bad. They should have just cut those scenes completely out
Some one liners were more like WTF than LOL. like the one about splitting kids up by sexual orientation…that wasn’t funny that was like wtf
Samcedes. I’m actually happy for them. I’d rather see an interracial couple then see another gay couple on screen. it’s nice to see a change
Quinn got a haircut…ok…
so all in all a pretty disappointing season finale but not terrible. Glee needs to have more consistency and a clearer POV for next season. I hope they go in the direction of Season 1 and the last few episodes for the new season.
this was clearly the best SNL episode since Betty White. every skit was worth watching and i really can’t pick out my favorite. i really can’t. JT was amazing. everything was so hilarious, well written, and well acted.
and don’t get me started on Lady Gaga…she was equally amazing!
i LOVE lady gaga. she did a fantastic job also on her small acting roles. usually i fastforward during the musical performances but i for sure watched every song. it was amazing! her singing is fantastic and the whole thing was just great
they did all of our favorite JT SNL classic moments: the dressed up singing product (liquorville), singing his monologue, poking fun of his past, motherlover, and the Barry Gibbs talk show
Jimmy Fallon and Bradley Cooper also guest starred!!
also, i applaud Seth Meyer’s Really?!? segment. i was doubtful that he could pull it off without Amy or Tina, but his jokes about Gov. Arnold were soooo funny and spot on
all in all, a FANTASTIC SNL episode and great way to end the season!
so i did my review and opinion on last night’s Glee episode but didn’t talk about the music they sang. lets break it down
Santana: she can sing the entire Amy Winehouse playlist and make it sound original. she’s a super sexy latina bombshell. LOVED it!
Kurt: look, i get Kurt. i understand that he’s super flamboyant and he’s trying to push the boundaries. he sang it very well too. BUT. i didn’t enjoy it that much. the original is so powerful and well sung, that i thought his rendition was meh. also, wouldn’t it not hurt to let him sing one guy song for once?
Mercedes: bitch took it home. LOVED it. although, i do wish they can expand her repertoire beyond black soul singers
Rachel: slightly forgettable IMO. but very well sung. they’ve probably sung every Barbra Streissand song on this show by the end of this season
Pure Imagination: very beautiful. it’s a nice change to have the group sing a slow song then an upbeat one. very refreshing and emotional. i teared up when listening to it. it’s a song about beauty, innocence, and pure joy
so some guys from my old high school got in some SERIOUS trouble
their senior prank was to break into the school and move the desks for the AP test to somewhere else.
to break in, one guy slept in the locker room so he could unlock the back door. too bad the silent alarm went off…i think about 15 guys got busted that night
some serious shit flew up: bail money, jail time, alternative school, no prom, no walking at graduation, no prograd, felony charges.
a lot of people think this is unfair and they shouldn’t be punished this harshly
i’m probably gonna get some haters for saying my opinion
tbh, i think they got what they deserved. i don’t personally know them, so i’m not gonna be Jesus Christ and come save them. it was a breaking-and-entering scheme, and they were also screwing around a national test. it’s not the school’s decision, it’s the law. if you break the law, you follow the consequences. if we let them go by saying it was a harmless situation, then wouldn’t that give us license to let everyone do what they wanna do? where’s the law enforcement in that? the control?
although i don’t think they should be charged as felons. should they be punished? absolutely. they should probably be charged that would include jail time. not walking for graduation is actually pretty common when you do a senior prank gone wrong, according to that MTV high school show.
i’m sorry, but if you break the law, you pay the consequences. if we them let them off the hook, then it would send a message to everyone that you could basically get away with everything
so everyone in college is trying to get one thing: an internship/job
personally for me, i can’t get one till i’m 21. IF i try to get one through the business school.
TBH though, i don’t think i want one right now. i’m so young. i’m still 18. i have extremely limited work experience right now. i’ve never worked in retail before, or sat behind a desk answering phone calls, or typed in data in a computer before.
trust me, i really do want an internship right now. it’s just that i have such limited experience that if i get an internship now, wtf am i gonna do? i’m super young and i’ve only taken 2 solid business courses.
i’d like to build up my resume first and gain more exposure and experience before i get down with the big dogs. my plan is to make my way up. work from simple retail, like right now. then move up to maybe a teller in a bank. then from there i can maybe go like around for bigger opportunities.
it’s just that i want more work experience first before i want to dive into anything in the real working world.
can i just be the first to admit that i teared up while watching this episode? this is one of the extremely few times i have teared up while watching Glee. the first time was when Sue asked Jean if she believed in God in the Grilled Cheesus episode
i thought this episode was so touching. i really felt Sue’s character and her emotions. am i surprised that her sister was the one that passed away? not really. i just thought it was so emotional and moving. when Mr. Schu read her speech, i teared up. and then when the Glee club sang the Willy Wonka song, i started to cry. it was a song about innocence, joy, and beauty. the only criticism i would make is that i wished i could hear more of the whole club sing in unison. the whole single was mainly Kurt singing lead and while i really liked his vocals, i would prefer to have the whole club sing the melody in the later part of the song. but other than that, i thought the song was just beautiful
i really hate Jesse. never was a fan of him and i still don’t trust him. tbh though, i felt the audition scenario was an excuse for the show to showcase the show’s top soloists with their signature styles: Santana- raspy, seductive. Kurt- showtunes. Mercedes- gospel, R&B. Rachel- anything Barbra
some other notes
so we learn that terri isn’t 100% crazy. she actually helped them
Jesse made some blunt but kinda true comments about some people in the club, like how Finn isn’t the best singer and dancer. but jesse’s still an asshole
Finn broke up with Quinn. FINCHEL PEOPLE REJOICE!
Quinn has “plans” in new york…a new haircut? a romantic stroll in central park?
Rachel is still delusional for liking Jesse still IMO.
they’re singing original songs again for Nationals…i was actually hoping they would do Empire State of Mind again but vamped up or a clear New York inspired ballad anthem song
