possibly one of the most iconic singers of all time and personally one of my favorite: the one and only Elton John. definitely some standouts and favorites tonight
Scotty: one of my favorite of the night. so sincere and honest. i’m not a huge country fan, but hey, i’m from texas so i love him lol. he’s a front-runner for sure. loved him!
Naima: out. reggae and Elton John? hell to the no
Paul McDonald: very unique voice. i like him but i’m not sure if i love him yet. my favorite performance from him was the Blackbird duet during auditions
Pia: beautiful once again. uplifting, elegant, but strong. front-runner for sure. she’s got the whole package. although i do wish she can sing something else besides ballads
Stefano: good but not great. i like him still though
Lauren: she was pretty good but not my favorite of the night
James: ok here’s the thing with James. he’s a great singer and screamer don’t get me wrong, but he’s getting kinda predictable. everyone’s expecting him to scream at the end, and kick, dance, flip, twirl, etc
Thia: out. boring….she’s a pretty girl but she’s not the next American Idol
Casey: he sang my favorite Elton John of all time and….meh. it was ok. he just looked sooo uncomfortable to me. if i didn’t watch him, i guess it was pretty good but i’m convinced that he’s the next top star
Jacob: tacky. cheesy. it was just really cliche and tacky IMO. sorry, i’m just not a big fan of Jacob. but i do admit that he does have a great voice
Haley: best of the night?? wtf? it was sooo tacky. she did every tacky thing u could do on stage: laying on the piano, pointing at the audience…ew. not a fan of her
btw, Stephen Tyler does NOT know how to give critiques at all. he basically recycles old praises and thats all he does.
a lot of people say i look really young for my age. partly due to the face that i have slightly bigger cheeks, a big forehead, and nearly flawless smooth skin (thank you, thank you)
of course it has some drawbacks. people mistaking me for a high school freshman, a minor, or some people not taking me seriously in college
well, it got me thinking, i guess having that eternal youth look is a plus for me. think about it, by the time i’m like a legit adult in my late 20s or early 30s, i’m gonna have a fresh young look. i’m not gonna look like those asian people who look like they’re 50 when they’re only college age students…cough cough….
i think love is a very powerful word. i don’t think it should be used so lightly. it’s hard for me to believe someone around my age is in love. i don’t think they grasp the concept of what love is at that stage of their life.
well, i can’t say what it is because i’m not sure if i’m in love. if i have to wait a bit longer, then i will. i don’t think someone can fall in love automatically.
from now till the summer i’m gonna try to restrict the number of calories i intake. also, i’m gonna try to jog or swim everyday for at least 30 minutes. my goal is to lose 3 inches off my waist or more. i wanna get into my jeans i wore when i was a sophomore in high school
if there’s one thing you need to know about me is that i don’t talk about people behind their backs
well….that’s half true
i only talk about people behind their backs if they’re not what i call “close friends”. if they’re people i talk to but don’t really hang out with, then naturally, like we all will, i will talk about them because i don’t know them that well
but if it’s close friends…no. i’ve never done that and will never do that
today i felt betrayed
a little birdie told me that i’m a “favorite subject to talk about” among a group of people. now of course if i confront them about this, they’re gonna say something like “well we talk about how you’re in college and good nice stuff about you”
every teenager and young adult knows that “talking about someone” is almost never a positive thing. i felt hurt and betrayed, because i never talk bad about these people. it just comes to show that i can’t trust them, which is sad because i truly did before
so you all know that i’m a HUGE glee fan. been hooked to it since day 1.
the first season was good, beginning of second season, meh. i think it’s because they’re doing too much pop and modern songs so its taking away the charm and almost credibility to the show. in the past they did old songs and made them great again, which was kinda why the older age group got attracted to the show. if they didn’t start with that, i’m not sure how critically received it would be now..
anyway, we all know that a big part of Glee is the subject of homosexuality. now before i rant, i just want you to know that i’m not discriminating or hating. i support gay rights and stuff i’m just saying what i think about the show now
i guess now in the second season it’s all mostly about who’s gay or not. it’s probably because Ryan Murphy is behind all of this. now like i said im not hating i’m just saying what i see. it’s all been about kurt, blaine, santana, brittany, and karofsky. i wouldn’t be surprised if Sam turns out gay too. i think this is the point where Glee has just become a way for Ryan Murphy’s ideas to enter the public, especially the young audience. like literally now, half the storyline or more than half consists of just gay storylines.
like i said, i’m not discriminating, it’s just my opinion on what the show’s been doing now.
so i had yet another interview at the Missouri City Library.
gotta say, pretty ghetto…now i’m not trying to be racist or anything, it was just my initial reaction. i was the only asian there which was kinda weird to me
the interview was pretty intense not gonna lie. there was a panel of 3 people. the first 2 were the Adult Section librarians and i think one of them was like the Head Librarian. the 3rd person was the Head of the Children’s section and she was just watching me the whole time and probably taking mental notes about me
the interviewers started off saying what they expected from me, the salary, no benefits i would receive, etc
then the questions. there was a total of 11 and each asked me one and switching back and forth. most of them were pretty basic, like what are your strengths, how would you deal with this, blah blah blah. it was kinda funny because i said that my strength AND weakness was being OCD on being on time which would sometimes make me anxious or impatient
then they asked me why i would be the best for the job, and i said that i was professional, mature yet still young and vibrant, willing to learn, fast and hard worker, and i have library experience.
problem that i found out was that it’s required that i work 24 hours a week…hmmm. not sure about that. so i do get it, whoopee. if i don’t, its ok not the end of the world
kinda cheesy but this is what i’m gonna do. btw, i kinda took this idea from the show Friends but i added and tweaked some stuff
so my girlfriend and i are gonna go take a romantic dinner at our favorite restaurant. then we’re gonna take a small walk in the park next to the museum (btw this is gonna be in the museum district of Houston)
we’ll chat, hold hands, etc
then i tell her that i got special tickets to go see a special Constellation exhibit at the Planetarium at the Museum. so we go there, and it’s just the 2 of us. the enormous room will be dark but of course the room will be lit by the stars on the ceiling
the room will be covered in her favorite flowers and our favorite song will be playing on the speakers. i ask for her hand, then we dance together. at the end of the song, i tell her how much she means to me, then….
i tell her too look up to see my favorite constellation and there, written in the stars, will be my proposal
then i get on one knee, ask her again, and hold out the ring
so Stevie Wonders came out and sang some Motown and then BAM
happy birthday Stephen Tyler!!!
then it should some montage of James Durbin wrestling with Paul. Ryan freaked everyone out for a second saying they’re not safe, but then BAM
the one and only HULK HOGAN came out!
talk about random…
Sugarland performed. the song is so annoying and irritating to me that i like it. idk. the lead singer looked like an olivia newton-john impersonator. i was just thinking wtf is up with her outfit
then Jennifer Hudson came out. beautiful as ever. the epitome of what American Idol is all about
so…the bottom 3. i was sure Thia or Haley was out.
Thia, Casey, and Stefano
i thought Thia was getting the boot…apparently not. Casey did.
so he started to sing but then the judges cut him off and said that he’s automatically safe…
idk. personally, i think they used their save too early. i really like casey don’t get me wrong. i think he can sing very well and all but…lately he’s become more personality than singer. i feel like he’s thinking he can charm and humor America instead of his vocals. idk.
Kudos on Casey for getting the save because now 2 people are gonna be sent next week…
Casey Abrams: LOVE him. he’s in the top IMO. he’s gonna go very far. he’s unique, current, and a great personality and talent
Thia Megia: i think she’s a very pretty girl and very talented but i don’t think she’s ready to win. she’s very young and i think she needs more time to develop
Jacob Lusk: ok here’s the thing with him. i think he’s extremely talented and a great voice and even bigger personality. but i don’t think i can stand him anymore. yes, hes a joy to watch but i don’t think he’s very current. i think his genre is that Gospel thing but i don’t think he’s going to win. will he go far? absolutely but i don’t think he’s going to win
Lauren Alaina: i feel a Lauren Froderman vibe from her (if you watch sytycd you’ll get what i mean). i think she has loads of potential and she reminds me of kelly clarkson. i think she’ll go far.
Stefano Langone: i like him. is he the best singer we have so far? maybe not. but i really like him. there’s something likeable about him and thats important. i think he has a lot of potential
Haley Reinhart: irrelevant and boring. she’s the next to go
Scotty McCreery: ok at first i did not like this guy at all. i thought he was too country and too eccentric to be on the show. but as i keep on watching him, i’m now a fan of him. i actually like his heavy country vibe and it’s refreshing to listen to that. i think he’ll go far because he’s so different which makes him unique and special
Pia Toscano: beautiful. beautiful voice, and great looks. she’ll go far
Paul McDonald: i liked him from the beginning but i’m kinda losing some faith in him. i don’t think i’ve been wowed by what he’s sung so far. i still like him though but he needs to pick it up a bit
Naima Adedapo: i love her whole look, that afro-centric hippie bohemian urban look and i lover her classic voice but i don’t like what she’s been doing lately.
James Durbin: another Adam Lambert but he has a unique twist. i like him and i think he’ll go really far. i hope he has more tricks up his sleeve then just screaming in the mike
“In the north there is a beauty; surpassing the world, she stands alone.
A glance from her will overthrow a city; another glance will overthrow a nation.
One would rather not know whether it will be a city or nation overthrown.
As it would be hard to see a beauty like this again.”—Yannian
